The CIIF Forum cum Social Capital Builder Awards Presentation Ceremony 2024 successfully concluded

The biennial Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) Forum cum Social Capital Builder Awards Presentation Ceremony 2024 was successfully held on 10 December 2024 (Tue) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

With the theme “Fostering a Caring Community with Social Capital”, the Forum was officiated by Mr Clarence LEUNG, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, with the following guests as moderators and speakers:

Plenary Session Fostering a Caring Community with Social Capital	Keynote Presentation： Professor Terry LUM, Professor of the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at The University of Hong Kong	The plenary session explored how social capital could effectively and sustainably enhance the happiness of individuals and the community.
	Panel Discussion: Moderator: Ms May CHAN, GBS, JP, Special Advisor to the Chairman of Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company Ltd Speakers: Ms Grace CHAN, Business Director of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service; Mrs Patricia LAU, Chief Executive Officer of Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Limited; and Mr. KWAN Chuk-fai, MH, JP, Chairman of the CIIF Committee.
Thematic Session I Linking Resources: Caring Knows No Limits	Moderator: Ms Jessie YU, BBS, MH, JP, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Single Parent Association Speakers: Mr Hanks LEE, Director of Corporate Communications and Watsons Brand Marketing of AS Watson Group; Ms Nora NG, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Limited; Dr FAN Ning, CIIF Committee Member; Founder of Health In Action; Mr PANG Siu-kei, Captain of Care Team (Ap Lei Chau North, Southern District); and Mr Marclus WONG, MH, CIIF Committee Member; Captain of Care Team (Lai To, Tsuen Wan).	This session invites speakers to share various ways to establish strategic partnerships synergistically with different stakeholders to improve the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of citizens and build a caring community together.
Thematic Session II Unleashing Potential: Happiness Within Reach	Moderator: Ms Amy CHAN, BBS, JP, CIIF Committee Member; Headmistress of Apprentice Jockeys' School of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Speakers: Mr HUNG Kam-in, MH, Chairman of Kwun Tong Resident Association; Ms Vivian TSUI, Chairman of International Women's League Limited; Professor Vivian LOU, CIIF Committee Member; Director of Sau Po Centre on Ageing at The University of Hong Kong; and Mr Chris LAM, Member of the Youth Development Commission.	This session invited speakers to share their blueprint for a caring community for the elderly, women and youths, as well as strategies and experiences in encouraging people from different age groups to participate in the community.

The Social Capital Builder Awards Presentation Ceremony was held in the same afternoon. This year, five CIIF-funded projects were awarded the Outstanding Social Capital Project Awards, five collaborative partners were awarded the Outstanding Social Capital Partnership Awards, and 104 collaborative partners participated in CIIF-funded projects were awarded the Social Capital Builder Logo Award.
