As validated by the “Effectiveness Study on the Overall Social Capital Development among CIIF-Funded Projects from 2016 to 2019”1 conducted by the CIIF in 2019, the “House Captain” model is the most effective means for developing social capital. To widen the sustainable impact of social capital development on the community, applicants showing capability to effectively apply the “House Captain” model to their strategy for social capital development will receive a maximum of 5 extra points independent of the current assessment criteria. This is to encourage more funded projects to apply the “House Captain” model to their implementation strategy.
To enhance applicants’ understanding of the “House Captain” model and its application, the CIIF Secretariat will organise a practical sharing session on the “House Captain” model development to introduce its features, functions and relationship with social capital. CIIF-funded project teams will be invited to share their experience in applying the “House Captain” model in different community contexts for the sustainable development of social capital. Interested parties are cordially invited to join.
