Cross-Sectoral Collaboration Meeting 2017
Creating Synergy by Enhancing Cross–Sectoral Collaboration The Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) organised a "Cross-Sectoral Collaboration Meeting" on 5 July 2017 at Leighton Hill Community Hall. About 100 guests from enterprises/organisations and project teams attended, with the presence of CIIF Committee and SC.Net members offering valuable advice to the participants. In giving his welcoming remarks, Dr. Wong Tak Cheung, CIIF Committee Member, said that collaboration among different sectors had been essential for the effective building of social capital in the community, and it could create synergy by making a whole greater than the simple sum of one plus one. Thus, CIIF has proactively organised "speed dating" among sectors to explore cross-sectoral collaboration opportunities.
During the sharing session, NWS Holdings Limited, one of the Outstanding Social Capital Partnership Awardees in 2016, and Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council Limited talked about how they had kept on building social capital in the community by combining strengths and creating synergy among organisations through the CIIF funded project "On Call 24-Multi-disciplinary Community Health Promotion Scheme".
Kids4Kids, another Outstanding Social Capital Partnership Awardee, and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Lei Tung Integrated Services Centre shared with the participants their experience of implementing the CIIF projects, namely "Play with Cross Generations in Lei Tung" and "Befriend with Neighbours" – Lei Tung Yue An Mutual-Aid Project, in which they had successfully achieved cross-sectoral collaboration through continuous communications and mutual understanding.
At the meeting, guests from enterprises/organisations and project teams were divided into six sharing groups. They enjoyed a fruitful networking time and also had an initial discussion to explore future collaboration opportunities.
Ms Yan Chan, Secretary General of the CIIF Secretariat, concluded the meeting by thanking everyone for their attendance. She hoped that there would be more cross-sectoral collaboration in the future, starting from a point to a line, and then from a line to a plane so as to form a mutual help and trust network for building social capital in the community. |
